We are a fast growth order fulfilment company based in Kilkeel, Co. Down, Northern Ireland – offering receiving, warehousing, picking, packing and delivery solutions for businesses based in UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe. We operate with a fundamental commitment towards sustainable operations, with investment in new systems, operating methods and staff development.

Job Description

This is a key new role within the company. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the sustainability improvement process and underlying activities, to support the ambitions of the company to become more sustainable. A primary focus of this role will be the identification of sustainability initiatives that will improve our green credentials while also increasing value for our clients and their customers.

The Sustainability Programme Manager will lead the development and rollout of sustainability initiatives, founded on both processes and procedures including hardware/software integration and associated training and upskilling of new and existing staff. This will include the candidate reviewing the existing market, the associated hard and software available, followed by developing in-house sustainability initiatives and expertise, in the execution of new, more sustainably driven e-fulfilment company.

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with University of Limerick as part of the InterTradeIreland Innovation Boost Programme and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2:2 Degree in an environment/sustainable, built environment, business, natural environment, or similar subject.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Northern Ireland; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Northern Ireland you must upload a copy of it with your application.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of working within sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience of carbon counting, reporting, and management software/modelling packages such as Persefoni, Emitwise, Diligent, or similar.
  • A detailed knowledge of process development and implementation.
  • Detailed knowledge and implementation of sustainability initiatives.
