Job Summary

This position is with Origin7 Ltd. The role forms part of an Innovation Boost project supported by InterTradeIreland. Salary support under the programme is provided for 18 months; however, the employment contract is with Origin7 Ltd and is not limited to the funding period.

The company provides BIM implementation, information management, digital transformation, and project delivery services to clients across the construction and built environment sectors. Origin7 combines industry expertise with technology innovation to develop solutions that improve compliance, efficiency, and consistency in BIM workflows. Its current focus is on creating intelligent, automated systems that support ISO 19650 compliance, BIM documentation generation, and digital construction delivery at scale.

Job Description

Origin7 Ltd is seeking a motivated Digital Systems Developer to join its innovation team. The successful candidate will contribute to the research, design, development, testing, and validation of an AI-enabled BIM compliance automation platform that will underpin a new BIM compliance service for the construction sector. This role offers the opportunity to develop advanced skills in artificial intelligence, cloud software development, workflow automation, BIM information management, DevOps, and scalable SaaS technologies while working alongside academic researchers and industry specialists.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role will include:

  • AI-Enabled BIM Platform Development: Lead the specification, development, testing, and validation of software tools that automate the generation of BIM documentation and information management deliverables.
  • BIM Data Modelling and Information Management: Support the design and implementation of structured BIM data models, digital templates, and information architectures that enable automated document creation and management.
  •  Compliance Validation and Automation: Develop and test rules-based systems capable of validating BIM documentation against ISO 19650 requirements, client specifications, and industry best practice.
  • Software Architecture and Cloud Technologies: Support the deployment and configuration of cloud-based services for secure document management, workflow automation, analytics, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery.
  • Artificial Intelligence and Document Intelligence: Work with academic partners to investigate and implement AI, machine learning, and document intelligence technologies that improve document generation, quality assurance, and continuous learning capabilities.
  • User-Centred Design and Industry Validation: Collaborate with BIM practitioners, project teams, clients, and academic researchers to ensure the platform is intuitive, effective, and aligned with industry workflows.
  • Data Analytics and Continuous Improvement: Support the development of monitoring, reporting, and feedback mechanisms that improve system performance, compliance accuracy, and user experience over time.

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) as part of InterTradeIreland’s Innovation Boost Programme.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology, Business & Computing, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a construction related field.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in NI/UK and travel throughout Ireland as required; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Northern Ireland/UK you must upload a copy of it with your application. Failure to provide a relevant Visa/Work permit may result in your application not being considered.
