Specialising in membership, sustainability, advertising, and SME research, Amárach is now entering an exciting new phase of development through an Innovation Boost partnership with Ulster University, applying artificial intelligence and agentic AI to transform its membership research capability into a scalable, AI-powered intelligence platform — and is seeking a talented Research Assistant to play a central role in delivering that ambition.
Job Description
Working in partnership with Ulster University, Amárach is developing an AI-powered membership intelligence platform for the Credit Union sector, integrating automated data preparation, machine learning-based pattern detection, NLP-driven sentiment analysis, persona generation, and agentic AI workflows. The project represents a genuine step change in Amárach's analytical capability, moving from manual, analyst-driven research processes to a scalable, autonomous insight delivery platform with significant commercial potential.

The role offers rare exposure to real-world AI product development within a well-established Irish research company, with the opportunity to build lasting expertise in some of the most in-demand technical areas in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of AI-powered data preparation and cleaning pipelines for survey data ingestion
- Develop and implement machine learning models for member segmentation and behavioural pattern detection
- Build and integrate NLP models for sentiment analysis and thematic coding of open-ended survey responses
- Contribute to the development of an automated persona generation module drawing on segmentation and NLP outputs
- Support the design and implementation of agentic AI workflows to orchestrate end-to-end analytical pipelines
- Assist in the testing and validation of platform outputs with Credit Union pilot clients
- Document methodologies, model performance, and technical processes to support knowledge transfer to Amarach staff
- Contribute to academic and industry reporting requirements associated with the Innovation Boost programme
- Collaborate effectively with both the Ulster University research team and Amárach's research and client services staff
- Stay current with developments in applied AI, NLP, and agentic AI relevant to the project's technical goals
What We Offer
- A competitive salary for the duration of the 18-month funded project
- The opportunity to work on a commercially meaningful, real-world AI product development project
- Close mentorship and supervision from an experienced academic AI researcher at Ulster University
- Hands-on experience across the full AI development lifecycle — from data pipeline design to agentic workflow integration
- Exposure to a well-established, client-facing market research environment with a 30-year track record
- The chance to build a strong professional portfolio at the cutting edge of applied AI and NLP
- A collaborative, cross-border working environment spanning Dublin and Northern Ireland
