Job Description

The successful candidate will lead the design and rollout of a warehouse tracking and process improvement solution that will streamline MCP Group’s pallet and packaging operations. The role involves analysing existing manual workflows, introducing scanning and tracking technologies, and supporting digital integration with existing systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and document current warehouse processes, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement a new tracking system using barcode or QR code scanning and mobile data tools.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to integrate digital tools into day-to-day operations.
  • Use Power BI, Tableau or Power Apps and other reporting tools to monitor stock movement, storage space, and operational performance.
  • Apply process improvement techniques (e.g. Lean or Six Sigma) to optimise workflows and reduce waste.
  • Train staff and support user adoption of new systems and procedures.
  • Monitor progress and report on efficiency improvements, aiming for a 15–25% increase in operational performance.

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with North West Regional College as part of the InterTradeIreland Innovation Boost Programme.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2:2 Degree in ICT, Computing, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a closely related discipline.
  • 1 years’ experience working with automation technologies, digital system integration, or process digitalisation in a technical or project-based environment.
  • 1 years’ experience in a project coordination or operations support role within a manufacturing, logistics, or warehouse environment.

Must be legally entitled to work in Ireland/EU and travel throughout the island of Ireland if required; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Ireland/EU you must upload a copy of it with your application. Failure to provide a relevant Visa/Work permit will result in your application not being considered.

Desirable Criteria

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a project coordination or operations support role within a manufacturing, logistics, or warehouse environment.
  • Understanding of IT or digital systems used in inventory, warehousing, or operational management.
  • Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, Power Apps, and cloud-based project management tools for tracking and reporting.
  • Awareness of barcode, QR code, Internet of Things (IoT) or scanning technologies used in warehouse operations as well as their associated communication technologies i.e. 5G, NBIoT, LoRa, Wifi 6/7 etc.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in adopting LEAN or Six Sigma processes.
