Job Summary

HTS Labs is a medical diagnostics company delivering outsourced pathology solutions to clinics and hospitals.

HTS provides histology, cytology, immunohistochemistry and non-invasive prenatal testing services with advanced sample tracking platforms. They perform histopathological staining and cutting and design systems for fulfilment, courier tracking, payments and stock management.

HTS is building an ambitious new Platform as a Service product strategy, leveraging our brand and bespoke services expertise to deliver solutions to a range of clients across the medical sector.

As we develop this capability, we now have an opportunity for a Product Manager with a PaaS development background to join our expanding team.

Job Description

The appointed candidate (Cloud Solutions Lead) will align our cloud roadmap and commercial strategy to develop a cloud native, web-based solution.

In addition, it is expected that the candidate will:

  • Work with the current HTS team and UU to refine a design and workplan for the development and delivery new a new product.
  • Develop a cloud native business management and intelligence platform, underpinned with the latest Platform as a Service (PaaS) practice and AI technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive, particularly the CIO, to define reusable and extensible solutions to work across all projects and channels.
  • Work with IT architects, technical leads, product managers, and stakeholders to refine the cloud applications roadmap and product backlog.
  • Lead delivery teams; act as a cloud Product Manager in the delivery of product backlogs and product releases.

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Ulster University as part of the InterTradeIreland Innovation Boost Programme.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Computational Science, Software development, or related area.
  • At minimum 1-year prior experience with delivering Cloud-based solutions.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Ireland/EU travel throughout the island of Ireland if required; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Ireland/EU you must upload a copy of it with your application. Failure to provide a relevant Visa/Work permit will result in your application not being considered.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in Project Management, such as customer engagement, requirements gathering, and resource management.
  • Experience in the commercialisation of software solutions.
  • Ability to work with developers, designers and product owners. Practical experience with systems design and implementation, such as BI and cloud native services.
  • Postgraduate degree in computing, data analytics, MIS, or related cognate area.
  • Practical experience in a PaaS environment, e.g. practical experience of cloud native development and scalable architectures. Understanding of IT infrastructure and enterprise solution concepts.
  • Ability to elicit and understand customer needs, determine the solution to meet these needs and document these solutions in the form of user stories, uses cases, technological specifications and workflow diagrams that can be implemented by the delivery team.
