Job Description

The Automation & Digital Manufacturing Engineer will lead the introduction of an automated colour-custom bottle labelling system, working closely with Glass Innovations and North West Regional College. Responsibilities include developing a digital twin of the labelling process, supporting equipment sourcing and integration, testing production workflows, generating training manuals, and embedding new automated capabilities within the company. The role combines engineering, automation, and project management, offering exceptional hands-on experience in Industry 4.0 implementation.

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with North West Regional College as part of the InterTradeIreland Innovation Boost Programme.

Interviews will be held approximately week commencing: 09/03/2026

Essential Criteria

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with CAD, automation systems, or digital manufacturing tools.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Ireland/EU, and travel throughout the island of Ireland if required; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Ireland/EU, you must upload a copy of it with your application. Failure to provide a relevant Visa/Work permit will result in your application not being considered.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with digital twins, simulation, or Industry 4.0 systems.
  • Knowledge of robotics, PLCs, or automated machinery.
  • Understanding of colour/print processes or production workflows.
  • Experience in developing training materials or SOPs.
  • Familiarity with Lean or process optimisation methodologies.
  • Previous industry placement or manufacturing experience.
