This position is with Armatile Ltd. The role forms part of an Innovation Boost project supported by InterTradeIreland. Salary support under the programme is provided for 18 months; however, the employment contract is with Armatile and is not limited to the funding period.

Job Description
This is a key strategic role focused on leading the development of a new range of recycled surface products within the company’s manufacturing operations. The Product Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and introduction of recycled terrazzo-style materials derived from tile-production waste. Working closely with an academic partner and internal production teams, the successful candidate will coordinate all aspects of product development, from material formulation and prototype production through to technical testing, process integration, and preparation for market introduction.
A core part of the role will involve embedding sustainable material solutions within the company’s existing fabrication processes and supporting the transition from traditional waste disposal practices to circular material reuse. The Product Development Manager will play a central role in driving innovation, improving operational processes, and supporting the company’s ambition to introduce new sustainable product lines that respond to evolving market demand within the construction and design sectors. Key responsibilities will include:
- leading the development and refinement of recycled material formulations and terrazzo-style surface products
- coordinating prototype manufacture, material trials, and technical testing activities
- supporting waste material processing, aggregate preparation, and production workflow integration
- collaborating with academic partners on product performance evaluation and process optimisation
- managing project planning and implementation activities
- supporting product specification and market introduction activities
- identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and future product innovation within manufacturing operations
The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with University of Limerick (UL) as part of the InterTradeIreland’s Innovation Boost Programme.
