Job Description
ALS Identify is seeking a Product Development Engineer to support the design and development of a new automated manufacturing product solution. This role will focus on translating product requirements into engineered solutions, supporting prototype development, testing and preparation for manufacture.
The Product Development Engineer will be involved in mechanical design, system layout and integration of automated elements, working closely with internal engineering staff and academic partners. The role will support the development of in-house product development capability and reduce reliance on external suppliers for future product innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of a new automated product solution from concept through to prototype and production-ready design
- Produce CAD models, layouts and design documentation to support product development
- Assist with prototype build, testing and evaluation, identifying design improvements through iteration
- Support integration of mechanical and automated elements within the system
- Contribute to design-for-manufacture and assembly considerations
- Work with academic and technical partners to support knowledge transfer and capability building
This role suits an engineer with an interest in product development, automation and applied engineering within a manufacturing-focused environment.
