Job Summary

The Butcher’s Daughter is based in Cashel, Co. Tipperary and manufactures gourmet pork sausages. The business produces chilled retail & food service products. The company has recently won a Great Taste award for their traditional pork sausages and is in an exciting phase of growth. We would like an NPD technologist to join us in developing and launching new products in the range.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for an NPD technologist, who will be the driving force behind the company’s development of new products in the meat manufacturing segment.

You will:

  • Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle for a range of new high-protein bitesize products.
  • Develop a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals.
  • Define the product roadmap and prioritize features based on customer needs, market demands, and business objectives.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to ideate, conceptualise, and implement innovative products.


The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Southern Reginal College as part of the InterTradeIreland Innovation Boost Programme and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.

Essential Criteria

  • 2 years project management skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 2+ years food manufacturing experience
  • Must be legally entitled to work in the Republic of Ireland/EU and travel to NI; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Republic of Ireland you must upload a copy of it with your application.

  • Experience in researching, and scoping out new product developments and launches
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
