Location:
Simplyfruit is based at Carn Drive, just off the M1 near Portadown, Co. Armagh, a central location with excellent infrastructure and transport links. We are only 20 minutes from Belfast and within roughly an hour’s drive of many key towns and cities including Newry, Dungannon, Antrim, Dundalk and Monaghan. With easy access to the motorway network, our site is well connected and convenient for commuting, collaboration, and wider travel across the island.
Job Description
This brand new and exciting role will work within Simplyfruit Ltd. The successful candidate will lead the development of a new range of products created from a waste stream. The person will be responsible for developing a New Product Development (NPD) Dept alongside establishing and embedding a workflow process for NPD into the business.
- Develop a range of products using mango waste under the Simplyfruits brand.
- Carry out benchmarking regularly, researching consumer markets to develop new product concepts.
- Work closely with the technical and operations team to ensure smooth transition of products from kitchen to factory launch.
- Work closely with the technical team to produce samples for shelf life and nutritional analyses as well as in house organoleptic testing on trialled products.
- Work closely with commercial, sales and operations team to make efficient and profitable products.
- Maintain awareness of new innovative ingredients, raw materials, packaging, suppliers and relevant market trends.
- Recipe formulation with commercial awareness and ensuring methods are in line with business capabilities.
- Research, investigate and conduct shelf-life extension trials.
The successful graduate will lead
this project, in a supportive partnership with Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) as part of the InterTradeIreland Innovation Boost Programme and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.
