Job Summary

Silver Pail Dairy was founded in 1978 by Michael Murphy and has grown to become the largest ice cream manufacturer in Ireland with many years’ experience in developing and producing high quality ice cream and frozen desserts for retail, food service and private label customers. The company are in an exciting phase of growth and would like an NPD technologist to join them in developing and launching new products in the range.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for an NPD technologist, that will be the driving force behind the company’s development of a new range of healthy ice-cream & frozen desserts. You will:

  • Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle for a range of new ice cream products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and formalise NPD processes and procedures within the company, embedding a new culture across the business
  • Develop a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals.
  • Define the product roadmap and prioritize features based on customer needs, market demands, and business objectives.
  • Assist in the test kitchen to prepare and create product samples

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Southern Regional College (SRC)as part of the InterTradeIreland Innovation Boost Programme and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2:2 Degree in Food Related Subject.
  • Minimum 1+ years food manufacturing experience (this could include placement).
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Ireland/EU and to travel to Northern Ireland; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Ireland/EU you must upload a copy of it with your application.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in working with Ice Cream Manufacturing.
  • Possesses a passion for and expertise in culinary skills, ensuring products meet customer expectations
