Claraghlea Ltd. is an engineering fabrication company based in County Fermanagh, specialising in agricultural and industrial machinery and equipment. The company was established in 2004, incorporated in 2020, and has a reputation for delivering high-quality service.

Job Description

Claraghlea Ltd. wants to begin designing and developing its brand of products, specifically, heavy-duty trailers for the agricultural and construction sectors. These new products include a hybrid silage trailer and a compactor trailer. To help enable new product development (NPD) they have invested in new technology, including upgraded software, new CNC plasma cutting capabilities, and advanced fabrication equipment.

The successful candidate will lead the transformation of the company’s design capabilities using the latest digital technologies and supporting the development of new products. This is a strategically important role, and the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • To embed formal new product development (NPD) processes and procedures within the company to develop and manufacture new hybrid silage and compactor trailer products.
  • To develop and embed a professional approach to product design within the company.
  • To produce detailed designs for new hybrid silage and compactor trailer products.
  • To assist with the prototyping, testing and manufacture of new hybrid silage and compactor trailer products.
  • To develop and implement the suitable manufacturing and quality processes necessary to manufacture new high-quality hybrid silage and compactor trailer products.
  • To compile technical and marketing documentation/information for new hybrid silage and compactor trailer products.
  • To manage certification for hybrid silage and compactor trailer products to ensure that they meet all requirements, with certifications included.

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Sligo and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.

Interviews will be held approximately week commencing: 17/06/2024

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant third-level degree in Mechanical Engineering Design, Mechatronic Engineering or another relevant discipline.
  • Min. of 2 years of engineering design and project management experience.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Northern Ireland and travel throughout Ireland; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Northern Ireland you must upload a copy of it with your application.

Desirable Criteria

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Formal project management training.
  • Six sigma/lean manufacturing training.
  • Good understanding of mechanical and/or mechatronic machine design.
  • Good understanding of CE/UKCA Marking.
  • Good understanding of quality in a manufacturing environment.
